The Pedigree Topic

There has been a bit of discussion online regarding Ragdolls amongst other breeds within rescue. We have seen comments even accusing some rescues of "breeding" the pedigree cats for a "quick gain". In the years we have been open, we have had Ragdolls, Bengals, Maine Coons, Russian Blues amongst many other breeds. Sadly, this has diverted the attention of the narrow minded minority from helping the cats, and instead aiming their attentions at slandering a number of rescues.

Our one and only concern, is to focus on finding all of our fur babies their purr-fect forever home. In our eyes, they are all cats, and all require our help regardless of their breed.

Adonis

Adonis is a beautiful, soft young boy. He came into us in the most upsetting of circumstances for his previous owner, but has always been absolutely adored and cared for - and it shows! On his paperwork, he is showing as a Ragdoll x Russian Blue. He loves attention, loves a fuss and his human will be his absolute world.

Adonis is 11 months old, and his youth goes to show. He has his kitten playful side, but also the relaxed, chilled out Ragdoll side to him too.

Ready date - NOW

Afrodite

Afrodite came into us along with Apollo and Adonis. As a ragdoll, she has a very relaxed demeanor, and is more than happy chilling in her bed all day. Afrodite came in to us after having kittens, and is presently still nursing them. She does have a shy side to her, as is often the case with this breed, but she does occasionally pop out to say hello and get her intermittent fuss.

Afrodite also loves dinner time, however, she is also on a grain-free diet as other food types do upset her stomach.

Ready date - approximately 15/08/2026

We are absolute privileged to be trusted to find these babies their forever home, as we know, it's not very often these well desired cats come in to rescue.

The Brindle girls

The Brindle girls came into us along with one other brindle sister, and a ginger brother. All six were surrendered to us along with their Mum (Morgan). As they arrived with us, it was discovered they had a fair few nasty bugs and parasites, but with constant treatment and the persistence of their foster Mum, they're now bug free and medicated. All six kittens and Mum have an amazing temperament with varying personalities. They love to play with their foster family, but soon get tired out and require their afternoon nap. They're now of age where they are ready to find their forever homes where they would all love either a play friend already waiting to show them around the house, or to go with one of their siblings so they can start their new journey together.

Red

Red is a sweet, innocent adorable little lady with a lot of vibrant colors. She loves to play with her foster family, whether it be balls, feathers or a cat tree. Like a baby, when you're ready to sleep, she'll gain her second wind and want play time. She will have her five minutes of zoomies and fall asleep where she stands.

White

White collar is the "butter wouldn't melt" of the group. Sweet and innocent, with an extremely playful side. She loves a snuggle and loves to climb up you to gain your attention. With the appetite of a lion, we hope your cupboards are well stocked for this chunky monkey!

Yellow

Yellow collar is an absolute darling. Again, with the "butter wouldn't melt" looks, but this time with the personality to match. All yellow wants is to snuggle up, and be loved. She came into us with it being very apparent she'd been handled a fair bit. She loves interacting with her humans and loves play time!

Apollo - RESERVED

Name: Apollo

Age: 2 years (approx)

Gender: Male

Apollo is a well socialised, loving and majestic young Ragdoll. He loves attention and fussing, along with playing with other cats. He will leave and chill in his own space when he's had enough and doesn't show any aggression towards people or animals. Apollo is absolutely fine with children (7+) and has not been dog tested.

Don't let the sad face fool you, Apollo is a happy, healthy young man who is craving his forever home.

Sweetpea

Name: Sweetpea

Gender: Female

Age: 10 weeks (30/06)

PLEASE NOTE: Sweetpea has previously had the herpes virus, this can flare up in future with symptoms varying. For this reason, Sweetpea can only be rehomed as an only cat, or with a cat friend who has also had the herpes virus.

Sweetpea was found in a local allotments along with 2 of her siblings. As the only survivor from the litter, Sweetpea has been medicated for the feline herpes virus. Sweetpea has been hand-reared by one of our amazing kitten foster homes since she was one day old after being rejected by her Mum. She has grown in to a happy, playful kitten who loves nothing more than human interaction and is very reliant on her chosen human. She loves to play, followed by the occasional nap. If you are seeking a kitten who won't leave your lap, Sweetpea is the one for you!

Scruffy

Name: Scruffy

Gender: Male

Age: 10 weeks (30/06)

Please note: Scruffy is also a herpes virus carrier. For this reason, he would need to be rehomed as an only cat, or in a home with a friend who is already a herpes virus carrier.

Scruffy arrived with us after being discovered on a window ledge. His illness soon became apparent under assessment with his main symptom being watery eyes. With the application of some antibacterial eye cream, this soon clears up but does reoccur every now and then. Despite this, Scruffy has always maintained his playful, happy personality with his foster Mum. Scruffy was hand-reared from 4 weeks old due to rejection from his Mum so is rather reliant on his human.

TT

Name - TT

Gender - Male

Age - 12-15 years

TT was originally a stray cat, taken in by one of our beloved foster familys' and given a new lease of life. TT has been shown nothing but love whilst in the care of his forever family. Sadly, TT's Dad suddenly passed, leaving a massive hole in TT and the Special Paws teams hearts.

Comments from TT's foster Mum:

TT is a gorgeous Tom cat who, despite looking slightly grumpy in his photos, has a very soft soul. Upon his initial arrival, TT was very reserved, but soon began to settle on in. TT loves his food, a nice brush and soaking in the sun in the catio. He is truly a loving boy who would love to be the center of attention in his new home.

TT would ideally suit an older couple seeking a companion, in quiet and calm surroundings. For this reason, we won't be able to accept applications for TT in homes with young children. TT is not dog tested, however, TT would be absolutely fine with one or two feline friends, so long as he has plenty of space to have peace.

Simon

Simon is now coming up to 9 weeks old and is siblings with Shaun (below). He is now coming up to 9 weeks old. They was born outdoors, but was soon brought into us along with their Mum, Shelley (above). As  a litter of 3, Simon and Shauns' sister isn't quite ready yet and is being held  back due to being quite small compared to her big brothers. Simon loves play time and cuddles!

Shaun

Shaun is slightly more outgoing than his brother and, as with most kittens, absolutely loves and thrives off play time and cuddle time. He is a BIG fan of human interaction.

If a home can't be found for them together, we would consider applications individually to homes where they will receive the attention and socializing that they desperately crave.

Sid and Roo

Sid and Roo arrived with us along with 2 of their siblings and their Mum after being part of a feral colony. Sid (male) and Roo (male), have adapted to life indoors absolutely perfect and are now ready to find their forever home. They are the most confident of them all, allowing fusses and cuddles and are all round perfect and loving. No more life outside for these little guys!

Sid and Roo are extremely playful, especially amongst themselves. They will run around your house, causing chaos whichever way they turn. They soon come to their humans to relax and have a nap once they've burned off all their energy, giving you plenty of time to tuck the curtains away again, and clean their toys away. They will gladly pull all the toys out their designated space, but the minute they notice you're watching, butter wouldn't melt and they're the best behaved kitties you could meet. These boys will become the children of the house and will expect to be babied throughout, so if you have plenty of time on your hands, these boys will keep you busy and be the most entertaining company you could ask for.

Gender - Female

Lilac arrived with us after she had given birth. Lilac, along with two of her kittens began their Special Paws journey a while ago now, and now her babies have found their forever homes, it's now Lilac's time to shine with her forever family.

Lilac is good with other cats and children, however, she has not been dog tested.

Jessie

Name - Jessie

Age - 2-3 Years Old (approx)

Gender - Female

Jessie began her Special Paws journey shortly after giving birth in a local garden. Despite our best efforts, nobody came forward for Jessie, and so, along with her four babies, they began their new chapter in life. Jessies' babies have all found homes, and now it is Jessies turn to choose her forever friend.

Jessie is great with other cats and children, however, has not been dog tested.

Cinders

Name: Cinders

Age: 1-2 years old

Sex: Female

Cinders came into us after just having kittens out in the elements. She has progressed massively whilst in our care. She loves to play and cuddle, however, she can be shy with new faces at first. Once Cinders settles, she is a real fuss pot who loves and craves your attention. She is fine with children, good with other cats but has not been dog tested.

No more babies for Cinders, she can now look forward to a new life in her forever home and not need to worry about when her next meal will come, not worry about how she's going to find warmth, and is really excited for it to be her turn to be chosen.
