Our current missions: Dedicated to every paw

Discover the vital work we do at Special Paws Cat Rescue. We pour our hearts into every mission, tirelessly working to bring outdoor cats to safety and ensure each job is completed, no matter how challenging. Many of the cats and kittens we rescue have ongoing health needs, making your donations crucial for their vet bills and medication. Your support helps us continue our life-saving efforts.

Industrial estate job: Rescuing forgotten feline families

We are actively working on a local industrial estate where several cats have given birth to numerous litters of kittens. These cats and kittens vary in age and temperament, presenting unique challenges for their safe capture and rehabilitation. Our dedicated team is committed to ensuring every single one is brought indoors to safety, receiving the care and attention they desperately need.

Farm job: Breaking the cycle of continuous breeding

On a local farm, we are tackling a critical situation where numerous cats have been continuously breeding for generations. Despite repeated attempts to secure help from other rescues, we are the first to provide assistance. We are making multiple visits to bring in the most vulnerable cats first, and with ongoing help, we aim to castrate all resident cats to halt this vicious cycle. This extensive mission requires significant resources and dedication.

The mum and 8: A race against time to save a family

Our volunteers are currently working tirelessly on a mission to rescue a nursing mum and her litter of eight kittens. Bringing in an entire family requires careful planning and coordination to ensure their safety and well-being. This mission highlights the immediate need for safe haven and ongoing support for vulnerable feline families.

Making a difference: how our missions impact cats and communities

All our current missions are initiated by individuals seeking help to bring in kittens and their mums, aiming to prevent uncontrolled breeding. We've witnessed how quickly these situations can escalate and are dedicated to intervening before they get out of hand. Our goal is to bring these cats indoors to stop the cycle of multiplication, which often causes significant mental and financial strain on those reporting the incidents.

We offer extensive support, including providing food for the cats and kittens, mobilising volunteers for trapping, and securing vital funds for castration to prevent future issues. Where possible, we also facilitate the return of cats to their original locations if desired by the reporters. Our missions are not just about saving cats; they are about supporting the community members who bring these critical situations to our attention.

Join our mission: your help makes a difference

Our success in these crucial missions depends on community support. We are always seeking passionate volunteers to assist with trapping, transport, providing temporary housing, and fundraising. Every contribution, big or small, helps us cover essential costs like food, medication, vet bills, and toys. We partner with fantastic vets who provide exceptional care, ensuring the best outcomes for our rescued cats.

Additionally, we aim to raise awareness so that these situations can be reported to us before they spiral out of control. The earlier we intervene, the faster we can manage and resolve these incidents. Please consider getting involved and becoming a vital part of the Special Paws Cat Rescue family.
